About
Overview
Dr. Salena Akter is the Head and Associate Professor of the Department of Law and Human Rights. In her illustrious professional career, she served as Associate Professor and Chairman of Department of Law of Stamford University Bangladesh. She specializes in Family Laws and worked as a trainer in several Government Institutes, including National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMCO). She is a social worker and activist having experience of working with different human rights organizations and NGOs. She is a vigilant legal mind constantly working to contribute in development of jurisprudence and legal education. She has authored several academic books; especially, the books on Muslim Law and Law of Torts are referred in most of the reputed Universities of Bangladesh. Her academic career is equally luminous, as she obtained her LL.B. (Honours), LL.M. and Ph.D. from University of Dhaka. She is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
